Bill overview
This bill eliminates the automatic annual increases to the petroleum products gross receipts tax in New Jersey. Currently, the tax rate is adjusted quarterly based on the average retail price of gasoline and diesel fuel. The bill removes this automatic adjustment mechanism, maintaining the existing tax rates but allowing for adjustments based on actual fuel prices. It also includes provisions to prevent the cessation of certain fuel tax collections due to a legislative reversal of the 2016 law.
