Bill overview
This bill would require all high school students in New Jersey to pass a test based on the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services civics test as a graduation requirement. Students would take the test in ninth grade, and those who don't initially pass would be allowed to retake it each subsequent year until they achieve a score of at least 60 out of 100. School districts would be responsible for administering the test and documenting student scores on their transcripts. This aims to improve students' knowledge of U.S. civics and government.
