Bill overview
This bill requires insurers offering stop loss insurance to small employers in New Jersey to provide at least 90 days’ written notice before canceling or not renewing a policy. This gives employers time to find alternative coverage. The Commissioner of Banking and Insurance will determine the form of the required notice. The law applies to policies issued or renewed after the 90th day following enactment.
