Bill overview
This bill increases penalties and surcharges for domestic violence offenders in New Jersey. It establishes new civil penalties, ranging from $50 to $500, and increases the surcharge to $500. Furthermore, it creates a new ‘Domestic Violence Victims’ Legal Assistance Fund’ to provide legal services to victims of domestic violence, funded by these increased penalties and surcharges.
