Bill overview
This bill prohibits sex offenders who are deemed to be at moderate or high risk of re-offending from holding any job, position, or employment that involves contact with children. The bill defines ‘primarily consists of contact with children’ as a job where 80% or more of the duties involve interaction with children. It excludes participation by sex offenders under 18 in rehabilitative roles for juvenile offenders. The law would make accepting such employment a crime of the third degree.
