Bill overview
This bill amends New Jersey law to allow individuals 70 years of age or older to be excused from jury service. To qualify for an excuse, a prospective juror must be 70 or older, have served as a juror within the last three years, and experience a severe hardship that is unlikely to change within the next year. Qualifying hardships include medical inability, significant financial hardship, caregiving responsibilities, specialized healthcare roles, or membership in certain volunteer organizations.
