Bill overview
This bill establishes the Task Force on Child Care Deserts in New Jersey. The task force’s goal is to identify and study areas where access to affordable child care is limited – known as ‘child care deserts’ – and to understand the reasons behind their existence. It will be composed of a diverse group of members including state officials, child care advocates, and residents from both urban and rural areas experiencing these shortages. The task force will then produce a report with recommendations for addressing these issues.
