Bill overview
This bill changes the process for appealing property assessments in New Jersey when the assessed value is $1,000,000 or more. Currently, taxpayers can directly file a complaint with the Tax Court if the property value exceeds this amount. This bill requires that if an appeal is filed with both the Tax Court and the county board of taxation, the county board of taxation must dismiss the appeal without prejudice. The bill also clarifies deadlines for filing appeals and related documents.
