Bill overview
This bill allows the State Treasurer, in consultation with the Commissioner of Environmental Protection and the Secretary of Agriculture, to appoint an acting executive director for the Garden State Preservation Trust (GSPT) if the executive director position has been vacant for at least one year. The acting director would have the same authority as a regular executive director, serving for a minimum of one year at a salary not exceeding $150,000, while the GSPT retains its oversight responsibilities. This action addresses the ongoing vacancy in the GSPT executive director role since July 2021.
