Bill overview
This bill creates the Office of Children’s Mental and Behavioral Health within the Department of Health and Human Services. The office will focus on improving mental and behavioral health services for children in Nevada. It will coordinate with existing entities like the Commission on Behavioral Health and mental health consortia, and develop a statewide plan for these services. The bill also eliminates the subcommittee on the mental health of children within the Commission and requires the office to establish a Children’s Behavioral Health Center of Excellence.
