Bill overview
This bill requires certain employees and candidates for public school, youth camp, and school bus driver positions to undergo child abuse record information checks. Candidates for employment and existing employees must provide written consent and pay for the checks. If a substantiated allegation of child abuse or neglect is found, the individual may be permanently disqualified from employment or service. The bill also mandates the Department of Children and Families to establish a schedule for conducting these checks and to adopt implementing regulations.
