Bill overview
This bill changes how cemeteries in Nevada can disinter and remove human remains. Instead of the cemetery authority, the process now requires a petition to and order from a district court. It also removes the county commissioners’ authority to create rules about cemetery upkeep, shifting that responsibility to the cemetery owner. Furthermore, the bill expands eligibility for interment in veterans’ cemeteries to include certain National Guard members and those who received commemorative plaques from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and it establishes fees for these services.
