Bill overview
This bill creates a two-year pilot program within the New Jersey Department of Education to address mental health challenges among middle and high school students. The program will select six school districts across the state to implement innovative strategies for increasing mental health awareness and providing students with coping skills. Following the pilot, the Commissioner of Education will submit a report to the Governor and Legislature evaluating the program’s effectiveness and recommending whether to continue or expand it.
