Bill overview
This bill proposes to exempt sales of certain coins, currency, and bullion from Nevada’s sales and use taxes, as well as analogous taxes. This exemption would only apply if approved by voters in a 2026 election. The bill seeks to amend the Sales and Use Tax Act of 1955 and the Local School Support Tax Law to provide this exemption, which would be effective from January 1, 2027, and expire in 2050 unless approved by voters. It also proposes a similar exemption for the Local School Support Tax Law.
