Bill overview
This bill creates a process for legislators and the State Treasurer to propose revisions to the Governor’s budget recommendations. It requires these proposed changes, called budget resolutions, to be submitted to the Senate and Assembly Budget Committees and made publicly available by June 1st each year. The bill also mandates that sponsors of budget resolutions disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to proposed funding changes. Finally, the annual appropriations bill must only include items from the Governor’s original budget and any approved revisions.
