Bill overview
This bill amends New Jersey’s earned sick leave law to provide an additional way for employers to comply with the requirements. Specifically, it allows employers to be considered in compliance if they offer paid time off, such as personal days, vacation days, or sick days, to employees covered by collective bargaining agreements, provided that this paid time off is at least 40 hours per benefit year and can be used for purposes outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. The law also retroactively applies to the date the original earned sick leave law went into effect.
