Overview
This bill requires data center owners and operators in New Jersey to regularly report their water and energy usage to the Board of Public Utilities (BPU). Data centers must submit semi-annual reports for three years, starting within three to six months of the bill’s enactment, detailing their energy and water consumption. The BPU will then publish this information on its website, while performance data will be kept confidential. The bill also allows the BPU to potentially make this reporting requirement permanent through regulations.
