Bill overview
This bill changes the rules for out-of-state elevator, escalator, and moving walkway mechanic’s licenses. Currently, New Jersey must have reciprocal agreements with other states for licenses to be recognized. This bill removes that requirement, allowing the state to grant licenses to mechanics from other states if their licensing standards are comparable to New Jersey’s. This simplifies the process for qualified mechanics to work in New Jersey.
