Bill overview
This bill creates the Code Blue Shelter Matching Grant Program within the Department of Community Affairs (DCA). The program will provide matching grants to qualified, tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that offer shelter services during Code Blue alerts. To be eligible, organizations must apply with information about their existing grants from counties or municipalities, and the grant amount cannot exceed $50,000 per county or municipality in a given year. The DCA will review applications and award grants based on established criteria, and the Commissioner must submit a report to the Governor and Legislature on the program's effectiveness after three years.
