Bill overview
This bill creates a system where municipalities in New Jersey can receive bonus credits for affordable housing if they provide transitional housing specifically for veterans. These credits are awarded for each bedroom occupied by a low- or moderate-income veteran who has served in the military. The transitional housing must be designed to help veterans move into permanent housing within a set timeframe, generally up to 24 months. The bill takes effect immediately upon passage.
