Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s municipal planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment to consider and, where possible, incorporate recommendations from local environmental commissions when reviewing development applications. It mandates that these boards provide environmental commissions with copies of all development applications and ensures that failure to do so won’t invalidate any related proceedings. The bill updates existing law to strengthen the role of environmental commissions in the development review process.
