Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s public colleges and universities to award academic credit to students who achieve high scores on College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams and College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) assessments. To receive credit, students must be pursuing a degree, have completed the corresponding coursework, and earn a score of three or higher on AP exams or 50 or higher on CLEP assessments. The bill also mandates that institutions post their credit-awarding policies online and report changes to the Secretary of Higher Education.
