Overview
This bill creates a way for developers to meet requirements for electric vehicle charging infrastructure more easily. It allows for alternative compliance standards when building electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and ‘Make-Ready’ parking spaces, particularly if the charging stations provide a significant amount of power – at least 50 kilowatts per port. The Senate amendments clarify that certain gasoline stations and retail locations can also meet these requirements. This aims to encourage the faster deployment of EV charging options across New Jersey.
