Bill overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) to create policies and procedures to help licensed child care facilities improve security. DCF will work with facility owners to determine what security services, equipment, or technology can be provided, using available funds. The bill also establishes protections for child care facilities and their employees regarding liability, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Finally, DCF must develop rules to support the implementation of this legislation.
