Bill overview
This bill requires a minimum of two full calendar days to pass between the second reading and final passage of the state budget bill in either the Senate or the Assembly. Currently, the state budget bill can be passed without this waiting period, but this bill would establish a mandatory delay. A three-fourths majority vote in each legislative chamber could waive this requirement in certain emergency situations. The bill aims to provide more time for review and consideration of the state budget.
