Bill overview
This bill requires landlords of multi-floor buildings (three or more stories) to give priority to senior citizens and people with disabilities when they want to move to a lower-floor unit with the same number of bedrooms. Landlords must offer these residents the first chance to move into available spaces and cannot displace existing affordability or targeting requirements. The law also mandates that landlords post a sign informing residents about this priority status.
