Bill overview
This bill would allow certain for-profit movie theaters in New Jersey to sell alcoholic beverages. Movie theaters that charge admission would be eligible to apply for a special license from their local municipality, with approval from the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Control division. The sale of alcohol would be limited to the hour before and during a scheduled movie showing. The cost of the license would be based on recent transfer fees in the municipality, up to a maximum of $250,000.
