Bill overview
This bill expands the roles of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and patient care technicians (PCTs) at dialysis centers in New Jersey. Specifically, LPNs will be able to conduct pre- and post-dialysis assessments, reporting any abnormalities to a registered professional nurse. PCTs will be authorized to administer saline and heparin to patients. The bill requires the Commissioner of Health to create regulations to support these changes.
