Bill overview
This bill changes how state funds dedicated to conservation are allocated. Starting in Fiscal Year 2026, 62% of the Preserve New Jersey Fund Account will go to the Green Acres Fund, 26% to the Farmland Preservation Fund, 7% to the Historic Preservation Fund, and 5% to the Urban Agriculture and Horticulture Fund. It also authorizes the Garden State Preservation Trust and local governments to acquire land in urban areas for agricultural or horticultural purposes, establishing criteria and a process for such acquisitions.
