Bill overview
This bill requires that victims or their families be notified when a defendant’s probation or suspended sentence is changed or when the defendant is discharged from supervision. Specifically, the probation division must inform the victim or the closest relative of a homicide victim about the discharge. The bill also mandates that victims or their families be notified of any modifications to the terms of probation or suspension that shorten the defendant’s period of supervision.
