This bill amends New Jersey law to establish specific qualifications for individuals appointed as the state’s Attorney General. The Attorney General is appointed by the Governor with Senate approval and serves during the Governor’s term. To be eligible, a candidate must be at least 30 years old, a U.S. citizen for at least 20 years, a resident of New Jersey for at least seven years prior to appointment (unless absent on official business), and a licensed attorney in good standing with at least 10 years of experience practicing law in the state.
