Bill overview
This bill allows the Washoe County School District to pilot a new reading assessment for elementary school students, different from the state’s standard assessment. If the district uses this alternative assessment and saves the state money by not administering the statewide test, the Department of Education will provide a grant to the school district. The district must also submit a report detailing the pilot program’s results to the Education Committee.
