Bill overview
This bill aims to increase the supply of affordable housing in Nevada by requiring certain counties and cities (with populations of 60,000 or more) and their governing bodies to adopt ordinances that allow for the development and use of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) on residential properties. If these local governments don't adopt such ordinances by July 1, 2026, ADUs will be authorized without restrictions. The bill also makes changes to how common-interest communities are amended and terminated, including increasing administrative fines for violations and clarifying rules regarding leasing restrictions.
