Bill overview
This bill revises rules about access to library materials in both public and school libraries in Nevada. It prohibits school districts, charter schools, and library employees from limiting a pupil's access to library materials unless it’s for specific, unrelated reasons. The bill also allows individuals to petition a court to remove objectionable materials and establishes a process for the Board of Regents to adopt a policy prohibiting access restrictions at higher education institutions. Furthermore, it makes it a crime to interfere with access to library materials or retaliate against individuals for seeking access.
