Bill overview
This bill requires Nevada counties and incorporated cities, as well as cities, to adopt ordinances requiring certain businesses and individuals involved with animals – such as kennel owners, animal rescue organizations, and pet retailers – to complete a training course on pet handling. This training must be prescribed by the local governing body and renewed every two years. The bill also defines key terms related to animal care and establishes exemptions for veterinarians, their staff, animal shelters, and organizations assisting victims of domestic violence.
