Bill overview
This bill modifies Nevada law to protect the employment rights of volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol. It allows these volunteers, members of the Nevada Wing, up to 10 workdays per federal fiscal year for training and up to 30 workdays for responding to emergency missions without loss of job, seniority, or benefits. Employers cannot require volunteers to use other leave before taking these authorized absences, and employees can sue for damages if their rights are violated. The bill also clarifies that employers cannot prohibit volunteers from participating in Civil Air Patrol activities during authorized leave.
