Overview
This bill changes how money from the Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation, and Enforcement Fund is distributed to New Jersey municipalities. Currently, municipalities receive money based on a base year number of drunk driving arrests. The bill requires municipalities to report the number of drunk driving arrests each year, and the Administrative Office of the Courts will calculate and distribute funds based on those reports. This aims to provide municipalities with more funding based on actual enforcement efforts.
