Overview
This bill prohibits New Jersey state agencies, officers, and employees from downloading or using the TikTok app or its website on any state-issued electronic devices, such as cell phones, computers, or tablets. It also extends this prohibition to any contractors working with the state. Violations could result in fines or imprisonment. The bill includes an exception for law enforcement officers using TikTok for investigative purposes, with guidelines to be established by the Attorney General.
