Overview
This bill extends the Wounded Warrior Caregivers Relief Act to include family caregivers of certain veterans who meet specific criteria. It allows these caregivers to claim a tax credit against their New Jersey income tax, equal to 100% of the veteran’s federal disability compensation or $675, whichever is lower. The bill also clarifies definitions related to ‘qualified armed service member’ and ‘qualified family caregiver’ and addresses how credits are allocated when multiple caregivers provide care.
