Overview
This bill authorizes the creation of a temporary, commemorative license plate to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It establishes a contest for designers to submit license plate designs, which will then be reviewed and issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. The commemorative plates will be available for use on vehicles registered in New Jersey, and fees will be collected to fund preservation efforts at Revolutionary War sites through a dedicated fund. The plates will be available for two years, starting January 1, 2026.
