Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJT) to improve its transportation services to better meet the needs of people with autism spectrum disorder. Specifically, NJT must expand or modify bus routes, paratransit services, and rail passenger service, including light rail, and consult with individuals diagnosed with autism and their advocates before making changes. The corporation will also need to annually seek input to ensure services adequately accommodate this population.
