Overview
This bill would allow New Jersey to use digital license plates displayed on electronic devices. The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission would be able to permit the use of these digital plates after an application is submitted. Digital license plates must always display the vehicle’s registration number, and the commission will establish standards for their use, including data privacy and security. Users would have the option to use digital plates instead of traditional ones.
