Overview
This bill establishes two new programs designed to improve access to and affordability of New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) services. The ‘NJpass Program’ will provide discounted fares to eligible organizations, such as training programs and social service providers, to support workforce development. The ‘GO NJ Transit Card Program’ will develop a transit card that can be used for any NJ Transit service, offering a convenient and potentially discounted way for riders to travel. Both programs require the NJ Transit Corporation to establish eligibility criteria, contract with organizations, and report on their effectiveness.
