Overview
This bill changes how New Jersey handles parking tickets. It removes the option for drivers to have their driver’s licenses suspended for failing to pay parking tickets. Instead, the bill requires a suspension of a vehicle’s registration if a driver has more than five outstanding parking tickets or fails to appear in court related to those tickets. Drivers will receive a 30-day notice before their registration is suspended and have an opportunity to resolve the issue.
