Overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s law enforcement agencies to provide all officers with regular cultural diversity training and to develop a comprehensive diversity action plan. The action plan must include strategies for community outreach, partnerships with diverse organizations (including those focused on LGBTQ+ rights), and fostering positive relationships between police and the community. Agencies will be required to submit their plans to the Attorney General for review and assessment.
