Overview
This bill restricts all ownership of agricultural land in New Jersey by foreign governments and foreign persons. It prohibits the acquisition, purchase, or other obtaining of interests in agricultural land on or after a specified date, with limited exceptions for existing owners and certain legal processes. Foreign landowners would be required to sell their land to non-foreign entities within a defined timeframe, subject to a requirement that the land remain used for agricultural purposes. The bill also mandates annual reporting on foreign ownership of agricultural land to the Governor and the Legislature.
