Overview
This bill authorizes New Jersey counties to establish mentoring programs for beginning farmers and to resell preserved farmland at a reduced price to them. It expands the powers of county agriculture development boards to offer farmland to beginning farmers at a lower cost than the county originally paid. The bill also creates and funds a ‘Preserve New Jersey Farmland Preservation Fund’ to support these initiatives, utilizing existing dedicated revenues.
