Overview
This bill requires hotels and multiple dwellings to install carbon monoxide detectors in each unit. If a building already has a monitored fire alarm system, it must also have a monitored carbon monoxide alarm system. The bill defines ‘monitored fire alarm system’ and ‘monitored carbon monoxide alarm system’ to include notification to the local fire department or emergency services in the event of a potential hazard.
