Overview
The Tariff Transparency Act requires retail establishments in New Jersey to disclose the portion of a product’s retail price that is attributable to tariffs and other import taxes. This information must be clearly displayed at the point of sale, online, or on the receipt. Retailers are also required to maintain records of these calculations and are subject to audits to ensure compliance. Certain small businesses and low-impact products are exempt from the disclosure requirements.
