Requires public school student with concussion to be evaluated by physician or other licensed health care provider before return to school and return to physical activity at school.

This bill requires that any public school student who suffers a concussion be evaluated by a physician or other licensed healthcare provider trained in concussion management and receive written clearance before returning to school and participating in physical activities at school. If the physician recommends restrictions, the school district’s 504 team must implement those restrictions and notify relevant staff. Students with concussions are prohibited from engaging in any physical activity at school until they receive this evaluation and clearance.
